DreamStation - Sleephead says Not Data Capable

Post by bmax1985 » Wed Aug 22, 2018 8:07 pm

Hello,
I just was given a Dreamstation CPAP machine and I thought Finally I'd get data out of a machine.
I downloaded sleepyhead and read the card. It returned: "Your Philips Respironics CPAP Machine (Model 200X110) is unfortunately not a data capable model."
Is this actually the case? Do I have a shiny new machine with a SD card and it's no good to me to read data?
Sleepyhead did read the hours used but that does me no real good to know the quality of my sleep.

I was hoping for an AirSense 10 but didn't argue with the DME who didn't really give me much choice. Quick google of the machine while I was in the office seemed to indicate that it was a reputable machine and it had the added benefit to me of being 12V capable as I go camping. Others whom I work with and use the same DME were given the AirSense 10 when they received machines a year or so ago and really like them.

Please tell me there's a way to get data out of this! Thanks!

Edit: Typo

Yep! They gave you a "brick"! They put their profits above your therapy.
Take it back and demand a fully data-capable one. (models equal to or greater than 400)

Well it says "basic AHI and leak" reporting
https://philipsproductcontent.blob.core ... 3c0e0a.pdf
But SleepyHead may not be able to read it.
or
look down where it say "advanced event detection" and it says N/A.
I can't figure out if it does any data or not. If it does do some data it's a pitiful amount of data and next to worthless.

If it has any data at all you should be able to see it on the LCD screen.
Go into the clinical setup menu area and find the "show AHI" setting and turn it on.

Get the manual here....it will explain how to get to the clinical menu setup area where if you can find Show AHI setting...you should be able to see what the machine gathers. If it's not available...there's nothing to show.
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual

At the most you would get a generic AHI number with no event category breakdown and some sort of leak number. No graphs or detailed information though. The machine only stores hours of use on that SD card and it might show AHI and leak only if you used Encore Pro but if it does show just the generic AHI...that's really not much help.

Take it back...tell them you want a full efficacy data machine.

I cycled through the clinical menu... Nothing. :-(

Unfortunately, the only way to get data out of it is to take that one back and raise an unholy stink about them selling you a piece of junk.
Don't settle for less than what you want (airsense 10 autoset), just take your business elsewhere if they refuse.

Thanks all. DME says they'll get me the Arisense 10. Going back tomorrow on lunch to meet with them.

You'd better know which of THOSE models are data-capable or not, too.

https://www.resmed.com/us/en/commercial ... vices.html

The basic "Airsense 10" is another "brick" and doesn't collect data.
At the minimum, you need the "Elite".......or better yet, the "Autoset" (or, "Autoset for Her").

https://www.resmed.com/us/en/commercial ... vices.html

We'd hate for you to be disappointed again.

I'll close the loop on this. I ended up with the autoset and will update my profile. This thing is great! Way better design IMO and all the info I could desire. Thanks for your suggestions.
