Hi Everyone,
I was recently diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. My AHI was 104.2 and 110.4 during REM. My lowest oxygen desaturation was 57% with 26.99% below 88%. Needless to say, I am anxious to get this under control. I was given a CPAP machine (Phillips Respironics Auto). The prescribed starting range was 5-15 and with some adjustments I now start at 12. I am mostly sitting at 15 while asleep. The lowest AHI I has been with the Dreamwear mask - I started with the Amara but it really did not work for me. My AHI is swinging all over the place nightly from 4 (over just a couple of hours) to 18 (two three hour "shifts"). I can't seem to sleep longer that 3.5 hours with the mask.
My biggest problem is that the mask nose piece slips up and over my nose and winds up on my forehead. After much trialing, the headgear doesn't move now that I've secured it with bobby pins everywhere and wearing a chin strap over the headgear. I could find people posting about the mask coming off, but nothing about it slipping over the nose. I am a restless sleeper and mostly a side sleeper. I do have issues with leaks on my side. I have adjusted the tension on the headgear and too loose I leak a lot, I need it tighter to stop leaks but I wind up with "pig nose" and inevitably the nose piece on my head.
Does anyone have tips for stopping this?

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like maybe the frame size itself is not quite right for your head.
It's not stable...usually because the size is too large.
Did you know that there are other sizes of frames?

Small, medium and large.....most of the mask packages come with the medium frame. I suggest you ask your DME if you can try the small frame.

Maybe watch a few videos on fitting and adjusting - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +cpap+mask
You may find the Dreamwear Nasal Pillows solve the problem.
