Hi everyone.

I just got the results of my first sleep study and am waiting for the nurse to call to set up the 2nd titration study. The doctor told me my results were moderate sleep apnea and severe oxygen desaturation. The actual numbers are an AHI of 19 and 78% oxygen. They said it was worst when I was on my back and when I was dreaming. I'm just trying to stay on top of everything so that there are no delays in getting the equipment. Fortunately, I am lucky that my insurance, Aetna, covers everything 100%.

When you get a machine, make sure it is fully data capable. You will quite likely need an auto adjusting machine since you appear to have a higher number of apneas when on your back and in REM sleep. This is very common.

i second what okie bipap said. you want a machine that collects data. with that in hand (and using the sleepyhead software to collect said data) you can post graphs here of each nights data.

then folk here can give you advice on how to adjust your machine to insure you have your therapy fine tuned for the best results.

when you get your machine, please come back to this thread to update us. makes it easier to keep track of you when all your info is in one place.

good luck!

I agree with what everybody said thus far.

I want to add that you should enter what equipment you have in your profile. That way, it will appear on all your postings and nobody will have to look back.

Best to ignore DH... he's rarely right, and almost never pays attention to what's posted.

Palerider is right again.
D.H. wants OP to enter their equipment--and there has not even been a TITRATION STUDY.
Way to pay attention, D.H, (Dim Head). THERE IS NO MACHINE --yet.

The bully teams responses to D.H. escalated to the point where Chunky Frog thought it was appropriate to call him a dim head. What a crew.
