Wheezing AirSense 10 AutoSet

Post by nwstaehling » Sat Jun 16, 2018 4:06 pm

My ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet malfunctioned and was replaced under warranty. The new one makes noises like it is wheezing for me in sync with my breathing. I can tolerate it but it is annoying. Any ideas on a remedy?

Welcome to the forum.

It shouldn't be noisy like that. Your other machine wasn't...I assume.
There are lemons in all products and this one might be a lemon. Did you get a brand new machine with zero run hours (did you check run hours which is different from therapy hours)?

I would be alerting the supplier that this machine is too noisy and is too annoying and that it was unacceptable.

Background noise! To mask any noise. Jim

I shouldn't have to use a louder noise or white noise background to mask a machine noise. That makes no sense to me at all.
If a machine is wheezing...there's something wrong with it. I am not about to use a machine that might be faulty to treat a problem breathing and sure as hell not going to cover up the noise with more noise. I wouldn't be able to sleep because I couldn't trust the machine to do its job.

Little suggestion - rather than your name, it might be an idea to put the thread issue in the title so others interested would take a look.

He's brand new to the forum and may not know how to edit the subject.
I think I will fix it for him/her.

Hell, I opened the thread just to see what it was. If it had said Noisy Machine, I would never have opened it.

Many times a noise problem , isn't a problem of noise, it a problem of perception, of normal function as noise. Jim

Now how will he find his post? Just follow the noise.

This happened to me as well. Originally I had a rental, which was fine. When it came time to get my own machine via insurance it made a very annoying wheezing noise. I contacted the supplier and they replaced it for me.

Same sound?

I had what I think is the same problem about a year ago. Read this thread, click on the youtube videos to compare

Good luck!
