Medicare Coverage with 2 Machines
Medicare Coverage with 2 Machines
Hello:
9 months into successfully treated apnea using a Medicare Advantage UHC supplied machine. Does my insurance or Apria DME care if I occasionally use a backup machine?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Medicare Coverage with 2 Machines
Not at this stage of things...no one cares.

Once you have completed your compliance requirement, you can do as you please. The machines are yours.

Re: Medicare Coverage with 2 Machines
The only thing that might be an issue is that they might not pay for supplies for more than one machine. A mask and standard (non-heated) hose can be used on almost any machine. However, filters, water tanks, and heated hoses might not be covered for both machines.

Re: Medicare Coverage with 2 Machines
Since you cannot use both machines at the same time, it should not be an issue.

Re: Medicare Coverage with two Machines
Another thing to consider is that if your replace a machine and insurance pays, you'll want to use the new one exclusively throughout the compliance period. That is so that you can be sure to lock in compliance.
Re: Medicare Coverage with two Machines
Why do you make things confusing..the answer to the OPs question is "NO".

Yet D.H. continues to ignore you and anyone else who calls him out. So, who really is stupid now?

Well from my perspective...there's obviously more than one person making fun of DH or questioning why he posts what he posts.
I have been guilty of that myself.
So I vote for multiple people to get the award for "who really is stupid now" and I guess that includes me.

I suppose that means someone else is really stupid.

Yeah, you have and so have others... sometimes warranted. None however, as constantly, consistently and obnoxiously as 'passive', who strives to be numero uno at any cost. Yet, he calls D.H. "stupid", which I find amusing, since D.H. doesn't even acknowledge his existence.

Have a good evening, everyone.

Yep...and we are all aware that he does what he does as well as we are aware of what everyone else says and does.Lucyhere wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 4:40 pmYeah, you have and so have others... sometimes warranted. We are all aware of it when someone else does it also.
I personally don't feel the need for it to be pointed out. I can make that deduction quite easily myself.
No matter who is doing it...I don't see the need for it to be pointed out that so and so was being a smart ass again...I already knew it but I guess if it makes a person happy and important to point it out just in case someone else might not know...go for it.
Yeah, PR is a smart ass sometimes...but so are a lot of the others. I see each and everyone's smart ass remarks for what they are.
As for DH...he makes a point of ignoring pretty much everyone who has a smart ass response to him including me. My hat is off to him in that regard.
It's obvious that Johnny doesn't want to regulate the smart ass remarks from anyone. Why others want to do it or even feel the need to point them out is beyond me.

Re: Medicare Coverage with two Machines
For once, I'll side with DH on this - I'm coming up on my 5th anniversary on my cpap (and this board!) and was about to call my Dr to ask about a new machine. But this summer I'm splitting time between home and boat so it might make it hard to comply. Perhaps I should hold off a few months.
