ResMed AirSense Autoset 10 - 'Warming' mode for the humidifier

Post by spamgoeshere » Tue Jun 12, 2018 11:31 pm

How long does it take for the pre-use warming mode to warm up? Is it safe to leave for long periods of time (two to three hours) or will all your water be pretty much evaporated by that time?

I'd suggest you turn it on, if you're going to use it, when you start getting ready for bed.

I have mine on 'Auto' climate control, and it took 5 or 10 minutes last night to warm up. So not long.

It won't use up all the water prematurely if you use warm up mode but I don't think it will stay in warm up mode once it warms up.
You would have to keep turning warm up mode back on repeatedly to use it for 2 or 3 hours.
My suggestion is if you want to use it...just do it right before you want to go to bed. It doesn't take but maybe 10 to 15 minutes to warm up depending on your ambient room temp.

I use the warm-up feature, especially during winter. After 10-15 minutes the screen will display 'Ready'. If you don't hit 'start' within a few minutes, the cool-down cycle begins and once cool, the machine will switch off.

I have not used the warm up mode for YEARS.
For me, the bother outweighs the benefit.

Assuming you could leave warm up mode on for a few hours, you still wouldn't lose your water.

Without a lot of air blowing through, there isn't anyplace for the evaporated water to go. It would evaporate, condense within the water chamber and then drip back down.

and probably soak the blower unit, which probably wouldn't be good.

When using the warm up function, the machine blows air at a very low rate, the same as when the machine is turned off in the morning and the machine continues to run in order to dry the hose out.
