Hello Everyone,
I’m getting ready for a long trip and don’t want to drag along my
Humidifier; however, when I try to use my machine without it
It makes windy noises signifying that air is leaking. How do I fix that! ?
Thank you
Travel without my humidifier
Re: Travel without my humidifier

Yes, we do need to know what model you're using. Best bet is to put it in your profile.
Also, you didn't say whether the noise is "annoying" and/or whether you're genuinely worried about leaks. Note that most recently manufactured machines can compensate for minor leaks.
If you have a data capable machine, you can check whether you are actually experiencing leaks.

More likely it is "Darth Vader" noise from the pump that is normally muffled by the humidifier. My Respironics 560 is quite noisy without the humidifier, so I add a muffler from our sponsors:

A cheaper, smaller, but less effective solution is a filter:

This will work only if the noise is transmitted through the hose.CapnLoki wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 6:24 amMore likely it is "Darth Vader" noise from the pump that is normally muffled by the humidifier. My Respironics 560 is quite noisy without the humidifier, so I add a muffler from our sponsors:

Re: Travel without my humidifier
I've been using my PAP with a humidifier for eight years because my nostrils would burn without it. I decided to give no humidifier a try again and it was very comfortable. But the first couple of nights, the PAP was noiser, maybe like Darth Vader. But I guess I became more accustomed and it has ceased to bother me. In fact, now I'm sleeping better.
If you are able to tolerate not using a humidifier, maybe it's time to shelve it. If you try it for a few nights, then you too, might find it not disturbing.
