Nassau County - Need Help Finding Someplace To Get Fitting

Post by CoreyCorey » Tue May 15, 2018 5:56 am

I have been on CPAP for 5 years. I need help finding an establishment where I can go and try on headgear (at the store) to make sure its comfortable and functional. I want to visit the place and try them on like you try on shoes at a shoe store.

I have a Remstar machine with a Swift FX head gear. For some reason the headgear no longer fits perfectly on my head and nostrils.

Can someone help me? You can PM me.

Please help.

PS - anyone have experience with the AirFit P10 Nasal Pillows System with Headgear?
<- My life is dramatically changed for the better within 3 days of CPAP therapy!

First of all, there are more than one Nassau Counties in the U.S. The most well known one is in New York State on Long island. Is that where you are?

Also, if your issue is headgear (rather than the mask itself), you can probably buy a different headgear (depending on the mask).

I think he's talking about a mask, not just the headgear (Corey - that word refers only to the straps, etc, not the mask itself). But all he has to do is look online and a million places will show up - Google 'Cpap masks Nassau Co. NY", or something similar. However, straps need washing and adjusting like anything else and do eventually wear out.

I really like my P10 but as with any mask the choice is very individual. Our forum sponsors have return insurance that allows you to try a mask and if it doesn't work, return it. Some masks have free insurance and on some there is a fee. The P10 looks like it has free insurance now. Read up on it and see if this is something you want to try. https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/nasal-p ... p-mask.php

There's Continued Care in Farmingdale near route 110
There's Community Surgical in Bayshore.

Myself and a number of my friends are on CPAP and we get our supplies at either shop.
They both have websites you can visit/contact/call

This assumes that the OP meant Nassau County in New York (on Long Island). There are several other Nassau Counties, such as the northeastern most county in Florida.
