G'Day All
Has anyone tried using the 432 without the grey foam insert
I just tried removing it from mine and it still seals ,haven't slept with it yet
Im hoping it might not be as hard on the bridge of my nose

I tried it and it didn't help. Seems that there is a ridge or something in the mask right at the bridge of the nose. I use a little tape on the bridge of my nose and it help alot but does not complete solve the problem. But alas this is the only mask that seals well for me.
F&P 432
I just received my 432 last week and had problems with it leaking on chin. I laid down on the bed to try and get a good seal and found that if I pulled up on the forehead pad that I could get a good seal on the chin and the comlete masked sealed. I fixed a pile of gauze pads about an inch thick and put it under the forehead pad and I got a good seal on chin but it also took care of the red nose I was getting from ny 431.
I've tried the 432 without the foam insert and it behaves much as does a 431.
The 432 once gave me a major abrasion on one side of my nose, which I attribute to having it strapped down too tight, causing the contact of the plastic mask frame (rather than the silicon cushion) to skin. Or it may have been a manufacturing defect in the foam insert, which I've since trimmed.
I revisited the 432 the other night, and got some day-long redness just below the bridge of my nose. I switched off the next night to my regular CF2, and the redness went away, but that was my first abrasion on the bridge with the 432, after about 10 uses.
I find that both the 431 and the 432 benefit greatly by use of one of Rested Gal's Flexible Strip Technology (AKA pantyhose/tights legs), placed just above the exhaust nozzle. I don't know that I explained that well, but there it is.
Overall, the 432 is a very comfortable mask, but I get lower AHI's on the CF2, and probably feel better. YMMV.

well after reading all these posts on the fine and dandy 432, one can only take away from it this interface is hard on the nose, it leaks, doesn't have a forehead support/pivot to prevent those problems...
think I'll put the 432 mask in my dud drawer without ever trying or wasting my money on it.
but thanks for saving me the $169 bucks!

I have been using mine without the gray foam insert for 10 days and it works great. It seals as soon as I put it on sometimes a few leaks near bridge of nose and just adjust it a little and it seals. The gray liner makes the mask to small and if I use the large set that comes with it It has many leaks. The gray liner is a real problem with the H & P Sleep style cpap machine. The heated humidity seems to cause the mask to swell up. My provider and the company rep don't believe me.

Have you given consideration to the Hybrid? With the new headgear and improved air flow design, I have a feeling it will address these issues you are struggling with (based on my experience).jacko wrote:This red sore nose thing that happens with a lot of FF masks you would reckon the pll who make the bloody masks would come up with a solution
