Maintenance of Wakefulness Test

Post by billm » Sun Jan 21, 2007 2:55 pm

Anyone out there done one? I'm scheduled for one later this week. Any advice would be welcome; I'm a bit anxious about sitting in a darkened room with nothing to do for 40 minutes at a stretch, the only time I'm not doing three things at a time is when I'm trying to go to sleep, which is expressly what you don't want to do during such a test.

Thanks.

I've not had that done.

Here are some links about the test you're going to have -- MWT (Maintenance of Wakefulness Test) how well you can stay awake, and another kind of test -- MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test) how fast a person falls asleep when given the opportunity to "nap."

Warning...all that reading at those links might PUT you to sleep.
