Sorry to keep picking on you, DSM, but I know you are familiar w/the Resmed products and /w the HC 100.
Just to refresh your memory: I have the Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR. In the Clinical Menu there are two choices for Humidity: Front Cap or None. I am currently using the stand alone HC 100 humidifier. The DME gave me the Elite w/the Humidity set at None. Should I change that to Front Cap? I assume I should but .... as long as I have someone to ask to be sure I prefer to do so. I hope you don't mind.
Also in the Servicing Menu: There is an option (no, I didn't touch it) that says BR 19200. I'm just curious if you know what THAT means?? (The BR, I mean).

Slinky,
As best as I can answer ...
For the BR19200 ? - no idea - sorry
Re Humidifier. On the S8 I can select no humidification or 3i. If I use my HC150 I would choose no humidification & just set the HC150 independantly.
But, I think the humidification option only shows if the machine detects a 3i present.
The 2 options you mention sound like it detects no 3i so is asking if you have the front cap or not - I am assuming the front cap is the dummy cover that clips on in place of the humidifier. If that is there then yes try it but I suspect it makes little difference but am not that knowledgeable re this that I can state facts about it.
Good luck

Stands for Bit Rate. Used to set the bit rate or speed of serial data transfer. Not something normally used with the S8.Slinky wrote:Also in the Servicing Menu: There is an option (no, I didn't touch it) that says BR 19200. I'm just curious if you know what THAT means?? (The BR, I mean).

Thanks, both DSM and Bob. I was just curious about the latter and concerned about the former possibly the wrong setting letting moisture into my Elite. I always pop the hose between the Elite and the HC 100 as soon as I get up in the morning, first thing I do after shutting the Elite off. But ... I'm a worry wart about protecting my little ole Elite.

Probably it means Baud Rate (same as bit rate). I should have twigged when I saw that 19200 - but on the VPAP IIIs & S7s the comms negotiates itself & I never have to set anything so comms just didn't cross my mind
As a further guess I would wonder if it is related to a clip on Reslink module as the AutoScan software communicates with Reslink via the base machine comms port.
