Remstar M series auto needs service?

Two nights ago, I accessed the set up features of the machine and switched it to auto.
this morning, I woke up and on removing my mask the thing started beeping and saying "service required." I re-entered set up and set it back to the original settings.
At first it didn't work, but now it does.

Could some evil gnome have done something to keep me from changing the settings?
Or might I have done something wrong?

Hi Susan,

If an error message appears then the machine needs to be repared.

If you picked up your machine from a DME, they may have set up a reminder to beep, the Series M has that feature.

Shut the machine OFF before removing the mask. It was probably the leak alert that was causing the beeping.
