weird? problem logging in

Post by Guest » Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:40 pm

Hi,

I have been trying to log in all afternoon, but every time I enter my user name and password the log in screen just refreshes. I reset my password twice and restarted my computer-nothing worked. Anyone having this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

This appears to be a recurrent problem with this forum--except that due to its inconsistent nature, it's most troublesome for those with the acces to do so to fix it for all platforms/browsers.

You will probably not have any trouble tomorrow, for what it's worth.

I had the same problem. The advice I got helped me fix the problem. You need to delete all your cookies then try to log in again. It may take a couple of times but stick with it. A bit of a pain in the @#$! but it will work.

And while you're deleting the "Cookies", it wouldn't hurt to delete the "Temporary Internet Files", too. They accumulate quickly.

There is a program called Window Washer, It keeps your internet running smoother. It has a feature called Cookie Keeper, after you delete all the cookies, you sign in on all your forums. (CPAPTALK has to be logged into twice, once as remember me and once straight log-in, then go into Cookie Saver and save all the cookies and domains. From then on, when you delete cookies, those will remain.

I clear mine 4 or 5 times daily. Jim

Ever since I got my new computer with IE-7 in it (vomit) Every time I log into any forum that I choose to log into automatically it will no longer do that I thought it was just cpaptalk.
So now every time I log into any forum I have to do it manually.

Patrick,

I also use IE 7.0 and have no problems logging into forums this one or others, except as mentioned above and deleting cookies fixes that right off. I assume you've tried deleting cookies.
