Neoprene
I can less afford to buy a bunch different chin straps to try out, than to just buy some neoprene and sew my own. Any idea where I can buy a small quantity of 1/8" Neoprene?

Possibly a sunglasses retainer band? That price there is for 12 of them. You could probably find one locally at GI Joe's or some other sporting goods store for 3 bucks...

Thanks, but I'm trying to make a mouth strap with a 2" wide area in the middle to cover my mouth. I need something soft like neoprene so as not to not put so much pressure on my mustache. The hair follicles get awfully sore at night. Just thought maybe I could play around with a small sheet of it and come up with something that would work. Thanks for the tip, though.

I bought a waist belt at walmart for $5. It is neoprene, 8" x 40" black on one side, gray on the other, has velcro sewn across one end. I plan to cut this down into a chinstrap, just haven't had time.

AHH Yes, I remember trying to keep my mouth shut too, while trying to use nasal masks! My answer was to take a 3mm Neoprene Wetsuit hood and simply cut out the chin cup and a strap system (Split Strap). This is/was the most effective and comfortable idea I ever came up with. I even left enough material in the chin area so that I could pull the cup up over my lips if I felt necessary and eliminated the taping. Made for a very happy moustache.

Thanks, Brenda..........I'll go to Walmart tonight. In what department did you find it?
And, Aeroscout, that sounds like a fantastic solution..........albiet a little expensive, I'd imagine.
Thanks to both of you.

I found it in sporting goods. Right next to all the weight stuff.
