Hybrid mask hose management: how do you manage it?

Hybrid Mask hose management: how do you manage it?

I run the hose under the covers down from my chin to my waist and then out to the cpap machine on the floor. I use a Snuggle cover on the hose. This works well for me and I have no rainout in my cold (as low as 60 degrees Fahrenheit) bedroom.

I am very much interested to see if there is a better way to do this. Please let me know how you manage the hose with the Hybrid Mask, are you satisfied with the way you manage it, and do you use a bare hose, a covered hose or a heated hose.

My bed is in the corner of the room and I have a hook in the ceiling off to the side of the bed. I hang a string from the hook down to about a foot from the bed. I hook my hose on that at night. It keeps the hose off to the side. I can twist and turn, and never get tangled in the hose anymore.
I've never had rainout. I use the heated hose to keep my nose from freezing.

I use the same 'hanger' when I use the CL2. Works great for me!

My "home made" heated tube is hanging off a hook approx 3 feet over the bed. The tube is attached by means of an elastic band. This works well and I have absolutely no problem with condensation.

Hang my hose over an old TV stand by the fan. hose slightly higher than the bed.
That does it for me.

It lays next to me in the bed.

It runs across the bed... sometimes under the covers... sometimes over them. I use a snuggle cover on the hose simply for my comfort (don't like bumping up against the hose without it).

horrible hose

Just got my Hybrid, first night last night. Used to love my Breeze pillows (as much as one can!) as the hose was well-routed and didn't get in the way. With the Hybrid I again am reminded of the 'good-ole' standard mask I started with. By the time you account for the anti-asphixiation/angle fitting, swivel fitting, hose attachment, and bend radius of the hose, there's a good 8" at least sticking out the mask.

So, you can't route it 'up' or it makes a racket from interfering with the exhaust ports. You can't route it 'straight down' or the 8" sticking out the inlet port hits your chest and affects the mask position. You can't let it hang out to the side or the weight of all that hanging off the mask pulls it off your face. So the hose must be positioned just down by your side/under your arm for it to not interfere with anything, not leaving much ability to move (even though the mask itself seems pretty stable)

Anyone else have any decent solution for this? The mask itself seems reasonably stable and leak-free, which is something to be said.. but this is a real problem.

I was considering frankensteining the thing, getting rid of everything except the anti-asphixiation valve and adding a hose of similar style to that of the Breeze, attached to the upper headgear and routed up out of the way in similar fashion, with the swivel at the end, above the head. Does anyone here have both a 'Mirage' full face mask and the Hybrid? it looks like the 'short tube assembly' part would be perfect, IF the angled end part fits in the angle fitting on the Hybrid. If someone here has one, and could check to see if that fits, I would greatly appreciate it..

this is the part I'm talking about;

Thanks all

I cut the chin flap off my Hybrid and it works fine without any other adjustments or rigging.

If you need to make some adjustments here is a post that might help; viewtopic.php?t=13941&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15.

PM oldgearhead if he doesn't chime in today. When he was using the Hybrid he made some adjustments similar to what you are thinking about. There is a post but I can't find it at this moment.

No, I haven't made any adjustment in the elbow area. I have tried fastening
the 'short" hose to the side of the mask, but I didn't like. I don't recall why.

With the Hybrid, I have an 18 inch short hose attached to the end of my heated hose. This is all covered with one of Offherrocker's hose cover.

I run the hose just like Rooster, and, like Brenda, I use the heated hose to
take the chill of the hose. I hook it over the bedpost for the CL2, and straight under the covers for the Hybrid.
