Wishing you luck

After reading all of your posts and your struggle's to get hooked up you deserve a good night's rest. Good luck man let us know how you did in the morning. Goodnight Telly sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite (a little southern saying my mom used to tell me before i went to sleep as a child ha! ha!)

Nothing southern about that!

My many Yankee friends who have poured into this beautiful part of the south say they knew that expression as kids.

Here is what Harvard School of Public Health says about bed bugs: bed bugs Harvard School of Public Health.

telly,

How did it go on your first night?

telly when I first saw your username, I thought of Telly Savalas. I was pleasently surprised to see your avatar being him. I love Kojax as a kid. I liked seeing interviews of him and his brother George. The story of how their grandmother died always stayed in my mind.
I can do this, I will do this.

My disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever worked in the health care field Just my personal opinions.

Sorry Telly, cpap won't help you. You are slowly being choked to death by Talkie Tina. After 43 years you still can't escape the curse.

It's 11:30 AM here in Minnesota....some of us have been up and working for hours already...
Telly must still be sleeping--enjoying his new mask and machine, as we all sit here anxiously waiting to hear how his first night went...
OR....could he have set it up backwards and gotten sucked into the machine????? Will we EVER hear how his night went??

I'm A-OK

Post by telly » Sat Dec 23, 2006 11:47 am

Good Morning Everyone!
I made it through the first night with relatively few complications. Overall, I think I did very well.

Most of the night, I slept like a rock. I woke up a few times to leaks, but adjusted the straps and/or my head position (which turned out to be most important) to keep them at a minimum.

Woke up at 5:30 AM and two more times before getting out of bed around an hour ago.

Felt a little foggy upon awaking but not the terrible gnawing feeling you get when you know you have not gotten restorative sleep.

Probably the biggest drawback would be how my lungs feel. Upon waking, I felt a real need to clear them, as if I had a buildup from a cold. The feeling is still there a little.

Now that I have had one cup of coffee, I feel alert, content and ready to take on the day.

So, getting through the night was not too bad. And my body feels pretty darn good too.

It's going to take a bit more fine-tuning with my current mask in the short term. I don't think this mask is going to work out as I don't want to be so preoccupied with leaks. As soon as I do not need to fix my leaks so much, I am going to be doing even better.

I'm pretty proud of myself. I did very well for soloing on my first night. Therefore, I will reward myself with a giant Charms Lollipop. Who loves ya? Telly, that's who.

Good for you, telly. Glad the night went so well. Sounds as if you're off to a great start with your therapy.

Congratulations Telly on your success with your first night on the hose. I too experienced a feeling in my lung's of congestion or fullness of the lung's after the first few night's. Don't know if this is normal or not, I don't know what your pressure setting is but mine's been set at 16 by the sleep lab people who titrated me, which is a pretty high flow of air as i have been diagnosed with a severe case of OSA, try to imagine your lung's being blown up like a balloon, that in my opinion is what's happening, a lot of air being forced down there which we are not used too.

Hope you have continued success in the future
