Several years suffered disturbed nights. Recently my husband admitted to hearing me snore. I told GP, he did not think sleep apnoea as I am slim.
I was unconvinced.
Arranged a home sleep study a fortnight ago. The results came back. Moderate apnoea with 25 events an hour.
Next day I bought automatic CPAP machine remstar, remstar humidifier and a full face mask.
Now maybe I have been very lucky, but hardly any trouble with mask. I have slept like a log.
No more nightmares, gasping, snoring, rapid pulse, sweats or morning headaches.
I shall be informing my doctor and giving him a copy of the report.
The nost daunting thing was choosing the mask.

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you're off to a good start. Agree that the mask was biggest challenge.

Thank you, yes today I received a second mask in another style. That way if one breaks I have a replacement. I am in the UK, the NHS did not want to know.
Thankfully I could afford the expenses.

Yes, having backups is a good practice!Jacksfullofaces wrote:Thank you, yes today I received a second mask in another style. That way if one breaks I have a replacement.
It's also a good suggestion to try it out when you are not rushed. Finding out your mask is broken at bedtime after a tiring day is not fun. Better to have one ready to slip on in an emergency!
