Hi all. Is there a setting per my subject question? I presume the sleepyhead preferences/events page allows you to choose what will be reflected in the report. Under CPAP, I see the line "ramp event." Does anyone know whether unchecking the box means that the app will not "score" ramp events?
Thanks,
MC

Why don't you just turn off the Ramp?
Most users either never use it or turn it off very soon after starting therapy.
Most of us like to get the "full effect" of the pressure right off the bat.

I don't know what happens..if anything.
Never tried it but then I don't use ramp.
How about you try it and report what happens, if anything??
I don't know that anyone has ever tried it or at least no one has ever reported it.

What machine and mode are you using?
Don't you have a DreamStation machine?
When you have time please add your equipment to your profile so we don't have to guess.
wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile
DreamStation machines will automatically attempt to increase the pressure if something happens during ramp depending on the mode and menu choice for ramp setting.
Now if you are wanting to eliminate SWJ events during ramp while you were awake....give turn that section off and see what happens.
It might be a nice way of eliminating SWJ events from the calculations that we didn't know we could do.

Re: can sleepyhead be set to ignore ramp events?
So I deselected 'ramp event' as referenced above but left on the ramp feature (hey, some of us prefer avoiding the sensation of being inflated like a balloon while awake). Granted, I also trimmed my beard, which I wear a bit above groomed stubble, so I introduced a variable into the equation which may have impacted the results. Anyway, my AHI number dropped from 22 the prior night to 8.9. I did get up once albeit briefly but then fell back asleep for about 40 minutes without reconnecting. My Dreamstation AHI reading at the time was 5.5. I reconnected thereafter, and experienced a spike in events after the 20 minute ramp-up. No idea why, but that's the next thing to explore.
I know from experience that very few of us ever fully use the utility software writers program into applications. Being a tech tinkerer, I'll continue to tweak Sleepyhead until I feel I've maximized it for my particular situation, and share the details. If that makes some of you go , so be it. Happy to help folks find a reason to smile.
Cheers,
MC

Re: can sleepyhead be set to ignore ramp events?
I use ramp on my resmed aircurve vauto . I have it set for 20 minutes . No events get recorded while ramp is on . They start after the ramp period is over. Anyways that is how mine works .
