Post by jacko » Sat Dec 09, 2006 7:06 pm

I have been using the 432 for 4 nights now, its the first FF mask I have tried ,just wanted to stop taping for a while
I seem to have the leaks sorted now ,but the bridge of my nose is getting sore and red ,dunno why the mask seems soft enough
Would mole skin help ,not even sure we can get it here in Australia any Aussies out there know
Regards Jacko

Jacko, the 432 was putting too much pressure on the bridge of my nose just as you are experiencing.

I was using a medium, the same size I've used in all full face masks. When I read that others using the 432 had to get a larger size in this mask, I switched to a size large. I am much happier with the large. It fits a tad higher on nose and I don't get the nose bridge pressure.

If you are already using a large, the 432 may not work for you.

I hope you can find a full face that works for you. Even if you go back to taping, you may need a ff for times when you have a cold, allergy, congestion, etc., which makes it difficult to breathe through your nose.

I don't see why moleskin wouldn't be available in Australia, it's not an exclusive trade name.
I've never found that stuff to work though, because it seems to just cause more leaks because it creates a gap. However...some folks swear by it's effectiveness. I did not like the F&P 432 in my brief trial, but you may want to try some Nexcare paper tape for sensitive skin, that definitely helped me a real lot.

I get alot of soreness with my large 432, started with medium, and that was worse. Try using a small round bandage that covers the bridge of the nose, it has worked for me. Am still perservering however, I think the nose develops some resistance to it.
Keep your nose and mask seal clean also, one pimple and you are in for some pain.

I use the little makeup remover pads on the bridge of my nose and also on the forehead where the silicone pads irritate my skin.........no sores and they are cheap and don't move around........good luck

1) The upper forehead strap should be very loose (you can almost do without it) .... the tiny silicone forehead pad does not have to touch the forehead in order to make a good seal.

2) It is the lower strap that is critical for appropriate seal. You should adjust the lower strap tension while in your sleeping position and make certain that your head is not tilted too far forward or backward.

3) Make sure you use an astringent to remove oils off of your face before washing it with soapy water right before going to sleep.

4) Route your hose to minimize any leverage to the mask.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

That's correct. I believe the 431 included all three sizes but the 432 does not. I received the 432 a few weeks ago but just haven't been able to get past the leaks on it, which tend to be along the lower jaw area. To be fair, I think it has more to do with my facial structure than the design of the mask.

The Respironics ComfortFull 2, another full face mask, doesn't work very well for me either. I try both masks every now and then (hope springs eternal) but so far have been unable to achieve satisfactory results.

Question for you 432-knowledgeable folks:

My pal uses an HC431A with the Large cushion, medium is out of the question for him.

I use one with the Medium cushion. I can use the Large one in a pinch, though, it's just not quite as good a fit as the medium.

We're both getting the new HC432, where we must each select a size and commit $175 to that decision. I would think obviously he needs the large (pretty simple), but I'm a harder case to judge.

From what I've read here about the 432, nose abrasion/soreness, and "moving up a size" to fix it, I probably ought to get the large size. Anyone have opinions? Anyone in my same boat who can shed light? Thanks!

Also, just curious... does the 432 have three different actual plastic mask shell sizes, or just three differently-sized pairs of seals?

All I can tell you is that my Large size fits more snugly than my Large ComfortFull 2.

I'm not sure whether the plastic shells are of different sizes, but I couldn't locate a size stamped anywhere on it. The Large stamp is on the silicon seal itself.
