advice please

Post by porkchop6 » Wed Oct 11, 2017 11:13 am

I've been using a REMstar Plus C-Flex System One for almost 7 years now. No complaints what so ever, but time for a new one. Medicare and my supplamental will cover all. I'm picking up a new machine Thursday. I chose a ResMed AirSense 10, but a DreamStation is also available. My prescription calls for a setting of 10, maybe 11, can't remember right now. I'm not interested in tracking any sleep info. Anyone have anything good or bad they could share with either of these two machines?

=======

you should care about tracking the data

your needs change all the time
sleep position, sleep stage, congestion, medicine, others too
and they will change more as you get older too

every machine is different
you may need a cm more or less or even a couple more to get treated well
Thanks, but I'll let the doctors interpret the data if needed. Since I started CPAP I'm never sleepy during the day, and always feel rested now. My cardiologist has reduced my twice a year checkups to once a year and I feel better now than I did before the treatment started.

Either brand cpap machine would serve you well. Since only using fixed pressures the slightly different auto adjusting algorithms aren't something you would see.

If you ever want to go without the humidifier for some reason or go camping and run the cpap machine off a battery get the Respironics.

Both are good brands.

Thanks Pugsy! I'll get the ResMed AirSense 10.

I can't imagine your not being happy with the ResMed machine. I have used both brands and tend to prefer ResMed over Respironics but it is a very close race.
Both are leaps and bounds superior to your old Plus machine. Night and day difference.

Super happy with the old RemStar, just figured it could go out anytime after 7 years. I'll definitely keep it for back up.
