Need help diciphering SleepyHead results...

Post by eSwami » Mon Sep 04, 2017 1:36 pm

Greetings

So, I have been using a full face mask (I think it is called simplus by fisher and paykel). For last couple of days I am trying the dreamwear by philips under the nose nasal mask. The results i am posting are with this new under the nose mask and wondering if the therepy is working with new mask or not?

To my untrained eyes it seems like this new mask is not working as good....but not sure. I have added aug 30 results in the same image for comparison as on 30th I was using the simplus mask....

Your graphs look great.. if you are sleeping well, I wouldn't change a thing. Good job.

I don't understand why your setting is 10cm while the actual pressure is ~8.

DUH - I went back and looked again and saw the 10cm. Never mind.

I don't see enough difference to worry about. What makes you think it isn't as effective?
Either report is quite acceptable.
The reports will vary from night to night even without changing masks or anything else. We simply don't sleep the same each night.

Couple of weeks ago I had a night with AHI 0.45...then the next night 10.2...then the next night 0.95
and I never changed anything. Most of the time the differences aren't that big but they can happen.

Thank you all for your replies

I think I do feel OK and I think I am getting good therepy but wanted to make sure.
The only thing that stands out for me in the graphs that makes me feel that I might not be getting therepy is the the "leaks" as they appear to be more than it used to be but may be they are still OK?

I really like this new mask as it is not full face and more convenient. but want to make sure this is not leaking too much when I am sleeping?

Your leak line is well below any large leak territory. The minor movement you see on that top line is more from pressures changing slightly than any real leak.
As pressures vary the vent rate will vary (and it's normal) and that leak number you see has the vent rate included in it.

If you are trying to compare your leak numbers to ResMed leak number...don't.
The 2 brands report leaks totally different.
I expect what you are seeing is 99% vent rate anyway...no where near any large leak at all.
As long as leaks (even teeny tiny leaks) don't wake you up...I wouldn't worry about it.

I can guarantee you that your leak line is a heck of a lot better than mine. Mine is never that pretty.

Actually yours is disgustingly good...I am a bit envious.

If you changed masks...the vent rate very well could have changed. Different masks have different vent rates.
