Post by springman946 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:14 pm

hello I have a question I am interested in switching to a new bi-pap provider called j&L medical group so today I called the bi-pap doctors office and the lady told me that my insurance may not allow me to switch to the new DME due to the fact that my bi-pap machine may not be paid off I got the machine last November 17 and I was compliant all the way through Feb 3 of this year how long does it take for the insurance company to pay for my machine in full before I own it. a year or 2 thanks I have medicaid for my insurance

Depends on your insurance.
Call them up and ask them.
If it was Medicare...13 months and that's the longest "rent to own" contract that I am aware of. Some insurance will do 3 months. It's all up to the insurance company and plan you have.

Just because you got a machine from one supplier doesn't mean that you can't get your other cpap supplies from a different DME though.
You can use any supplier that works with your insurance for your masks and other supplies.

Is capped rental available on bilevel machines?
I heard something about the rental being forever.
Definitely check with insurance.
