how can I sell my REMstar plus cpap machine?

Post by rts1 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 11:32 am

I am cured of apnea (thank goodness) and have a barely used cpap machine with humidfier. How can I sell this to some one who needs it and not get into trouble? Any ideas??

There is no "cure" for apnea.

"Although there is no cure for sleep apnea, recent studies show that successful treatment can reduce the risk of heart and blood pressure problems." (quote from attached link)

I think the researchers would declare something is a "cure" for OSA if it eliminated the symptoms in a majority of sufferers who elect the treatment. However, there are folks who, by loosing weight or have surgery, have their reduced their OSA symptoms to zero. It is not classified as a "cure" in the classic sense but that doesn't mean an individual who is asymptomatic is not cured by weight reduction and/or surgery.

You might say you are in remission, I wouldn't say you are cured unless you have died. Down the road symptoms may reoccur, followed be the de-nile stage. I hope you are cured, but in the long term the numbers don't support it.

At least if you sell your machine, later you can get a APAP, with data recording. Live for the day, just don't forget about tomorrow. Jim

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
