Adapter - Connect Respironics cable w/DB9 plug to PC

Post by jeepdoctor » Tue Jun 13, 2017 8:39 am

I have Respironics 920M Plus pulse oximeter and a Respironics 1053371 download cable. The download cable termination plug is a DB9 female. I need an adaptor to connect the DB9 female to my PC. My choices on the PC are USB ports and a port labeled {(unknown symbol)/DVI} - a DVI-A-F port, I think. Need advice on what adapter (or adapters) I need to connect the oximeter to the PC. Thank you.

Thank you for your response. Can you explain the driver which I may need?

The USB-to-Serial adapters that xyzzy refers to allow the operating system to see the device as a new COM: port.
This is achieved by the driver that is included with the USB-to_Serial adapter. Amazon has one based on the PL-2303 chipset by UGREEN for $8.99.

If you have the PROFOX software then presumably you would point it at that new (virtual) COM: port to download your data.

Thanks everyone. I am about to order an adapter cable with chip set from Amazon. Wish me luck.
