Mirage Swift Nasal Pillow system

Post by apoggi » Tue Nov 21, 2006 5:29 pm

I will try this again. I posted before but didn't see any replies except from CPAP talk to my email address.

I have a Mirage swift nasal pillow system. I have tried many other masks and this seems to be the best for me. My question is how long should the mask last. I have only had this one for two months and the straps are all stretched out. Is that normal?

Feedback would be appreciated.

Not for us. My wife and I have used them (primarily) for over 5 months with no stretching..or feeling of it being stretched out. I pull my lower strap pretty tight and it still has stretch to it.

Check with your DME, or whoever you bought it from, I think it is still in warranty for 90 days.

Here we go again. dllfo above. My computer seems to take spells where it does not log me in automatically.

I went back and logged in, so hopefully it will stay...sorry about that.
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

I have used Swift for over a year with no loss of headgear stretch. (I used Pad-A-Cheek strap covers, maybe this helped with the wear-and-tear factor. )

I think my Swift headgear is a year old and still stretchy.

Swift life

I've used my Swift [with Steve's (UFO13) WONDERFUL velcro strap fix] going on 9 months now (opccasionally alternating with an Activa), and I'm STILL using the original pillows and find that the head-gear is perfectly serviceable. No stretch-out at all that I can notice. And, I'm a BIG-HEADED lunk!!!!! Do check with your DME about yours.

BTW, I have a BRAND NEW, UNUSED, VIRGIN pillow in the SMALL size that I'd LOVE to swap for a LARGE pillow in equivalent condition. Please PM me if you are interested.

Cheers!

One question comes to mind.

And remember I don't know how long the swift has been on the market.

Where did you get it? Could it have been sitting in some warehouse at the DME for a long long time? All elastic ages with time. Hard to believe it could have been around that long but who knows if stock wasn't rotated or it was exposed to temperature extremes.

Mine is 6 months old and still fine.

Apoggi- My swift is 6 months old. I noticed that mine has stretched. It is still usable, however I keep having to tighten it tighter and tighter. The hanging straps keep getting longer as it stretches out. Yesterday, my DME called me asking if I wanted to order a new mask, as the insurance would pay for it. So, I ordered another Swift. We'll see if this one behaves in the same manner!
