just got my acr38 reader today to use with autoscan 5.7, but I'm not having any luck. Anybody out there able to help me? Maybe I'm using the wrong drivers? Thy're from acs
thanks, Jim

I don't believe that I used the ACS drivers. IIRC, I did on the first installation, but then ended up loading drivers from the Autoscan disk. On the 2nd installation, I didn't use any of the ACS drivers.
Feel free to PM me if you continue having problems, and I'll do another installation to figure out exactly how I did it.

Re: autoscan 5.7 & acr38 reader
If I remember correctly, I didn't have to do anything out of the ordinary. Where exactly do you run into problems?pipesmell wrote:just got my acr38 reader today to use with autoscan 5.7, but I'm not having any luck. Anybody out there able to help me? 1) downloaded my data from the cpap machine to a resmed data card
2) installed autoscan
3) connected card reader
(I don't remember if windows did the usual hardware auto-detection, but I'm guessing it probably did.)
4) started autoscan
5) inserted data card into reader with the data contacts face up, carefully lining them up with the reader contacts
6) ran menu item "Download->ResScan Data Card"
The card reader shows up under Device Manager as "Smart card readers->ACR38 Smart Card Reader".
The device properties list as follows (I didn't change any settings):
"Reader" tab:
Card Parameters:
Card Type: MCU (T=0/T=1)
Card Voltage: Auto Detect
SFDT enabled
"Driver" tab:
Driver Provider: ACS
Driver Date: 3/24/2006
Driver Version: 1.1.5.6
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
I'm also pretty sure I didn't install any drivers or anything downloaded from ACS. The reader just picked up whatever drivers were installed with autoscan. If you poke around on the AutoScan CD, you'll find the drivers, and the readme.txt says they're ACS. viewtopic.php?p=73987#73987
I'm also happy to run another test install on VMWare or a different PC.

Glad you got it working.
I'm curious why you had older drivers. Are you using autoscan 5.7?
Are your updated drivers the ones from the ACS website?
If you plan to keep detailed sleep data over time, you might want to set a reminder somewhere to download your data at least every 5 days (the cpap internal memory only keeps summary data past that).
Also check out this thread if you have a floppy drive that goes crazy whenever you run autoscan: viewtopic.php?t=14324
