MyEncore readings

Post by floydcs » Sat Nov 11, 2006 1:25 pm

Hello!
I've finally been able to use my EncorePro/MyEncore software and record some data. I've collected only one weeks worth, but the data I posted here (see link) is typical of what I saw all week.
My concern is the Total Hypopneas and Total Snores. Are they in the normal range ?
I see my Obstructive Apneas are ok, now. My sleep study showed 31.
My titrated pressure was 12 and dropped to 10 a couple of days later.
I set my Remstar APAP from 8 to 11.

Floyd,
The totals really shouldn't concern you - they depend on the number of hours you sleep.

The important numbers are the indexes - a fancy word for average. On the average, you have less that one obstructive apnea per hour (great number that one). You hypopneas index is considered borderline - if the machine is identifying the events properly. How are you feeling?

O.

Well, your SI (snore index) is less then mine, and you have more Hypopneas than I do. Just keep taking data, and maybe try straight CPAP at your titrated (or your 90% pressure) just to see if the Hypopnea numbers change.

+ Aussie heated hose.

Oh, I feel alright. I know I don't get enough sleep every night. I average 6.5 to 7hrs a night, during the week. I feel foggy in the morning, but thats due to lack of sleep, I believe.

I'll try the straight CPAP setting, thanks!

your numbers look pretty good, would be interesting to see what they are if set to 7.0cm to 11.0cm.

If the lower pressure results in more sleep then that is what I would shoot for.

But the numbers look pretty good, some of us on Remstar Auto's get the AHI down to near zero. My M series is reporting mine at 2.1 which is a tad higher than normal for me. But my leak avg. is dropping so that is a good sign.

ok, i tried Snoredog's recommendations to go from 7 to 11.
Not much change. Hypops went up a bit. Had only 1 Apnea versus the 5 typical.
i know i may need to go for a longer trial, but i had a hard time breathing at 7.
I'm going to try the CPAP mode at 90% pressure of 9.5.
