Hi all
Following on from my last thread about the old unhumidified cpap machine I was lent to try by our overstretched and underfunded National Health Service, I went back yesterday and managed to get a brand new
ResMed S8 Escape Autoset Spirit System with HumidAire 3i humidifier
The rep had just been in and lent them one to try so I'm trying it out for them, apparently this is the best thing available over here in the UK and is probably the one I would end up buying.... It has a smartcard feature but they are having problems with the software which should be sorted in a few months
I tried it out last night but I'm still having problems with dried out mouth and throat, is this normal in the early days.....
I should mention I am full of cold at the moment and my nose is totally blocked so I suppose that won't help....
Any thought/comments/suggestions on the set up appreciated
Thanks
Pete
Got a different one to try..... advise please

When I am breathing through my mouth with my full-face mask, my mouth gets very dry also. The only thing you can do is turn up the humidifier heat.I'm still having problems with dried out mouth and throat
The problem I have, when I turn up the heat, is, my face gets wet and the mask slides around badly. All I can do is wipe off and go back to sleep.
When I use my full-face mask, I fill the humidifier, turn off the humidifier heat, turn on my "Aussie Heated Hose", and drink a big swig of water in the AM.
Cheers,
.
+ Aussie heated hose.
