How about a theme song?

Post by Catnapper » Mon Oct 16, 2006 4:13 am

Someone posted a song not long ago and I liked it.

Here is my suggestion for a theme song for cpaptalk. It goes to the country-western tune Willie Nelson made popular.
Sing it with me...

On the road to REM
I just can't wait to get on the road to REM
I saved my life by hanging out with my "hosed" friends,
I just can't wait to get on the road to REM!

Now it's your turn.

Continuing:

On the road to REM
I just can't wait to get on the road to REM
I saved my life by hanging out with my "hosed" friends,
I just can't wait to get on the road to REM!

On the road to REM,
Dreaming of places that I've never been,
Wearing things that I may never wear again
And I can't wait to get on the road to REM

On the road to REM
Like a band of divers we breathe in a new way
We're making rest amends
Cuz the headgear and the masks we wear are our way,
And our way

Is on the road to REM

On the road to REM
Praying Respironics doesn't do like Resmed
Writing my congressman and telling my friend
If I have to go back to Apria my mask won't fit my head
I just can't wait to get on the road to REM!

SING ALONG

Post by whatrdreamsmadeof » Mon Oct 16, 2006 5:48 pm

ON THE ROAD TO REM,
I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THE ROAD TO REM
LEAVING HEADACHES ON THE SHOULDER
LOOKING YOUNGER, NOT JUST OLDER
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THE ROAD TO REM!

YOUR TURN

How about this:

"Blowin' Eighteen" (to the tune of Alice Cooper's "I'm Eighteen")
Note: Don't take these lyrics seriously. I'm jus' havin' some fun!

Lines form on my face and hands.
Lines form from the ups and downs.
Got apnea and I don’t give a damn.
I'm fed up with this CPAP plan.

Blowin’ eighteen, CM of air.
Eighteen, it raises my hair!
Eighteen, it's gonna blow off my head!
I gotta get out of this mask!
I’d call my doc, but he’s such an ass!

I got a baby's brain and an old man's heart.
Took years of sleep debt to get this far.
My RT doesn't know what he's talkin' about.
Feels like I'm livin' in the middle of doubt.

Blowin’ eighteen, I get leaks every day.
Eighteen I just don't know what to say.
Eighteen, I gotta get away.

My DME ain’t worth a damn.
CPAPtalk is nothin’ but spam.
My machine creeps out my wife.
I may have to go under the knife.

I'm blowin’ eighteen and I like it!
Yes I like it! Oh I like it, love it, like it, love it
Eighteen eighteen eighteen eighteen and I like it.

On the road again,
You can tell I'm on the road again
And I'm on a NEW therapy now don't ya know
It's good to be on the road again.

On the road again,
It's not babes or booze or other stuff
Just clean air that I puff and puff
I'm chasin babes like crazy again
So that's really why
I need to be on the road again!

On the road again,
Where I can sing (?) and play this ol' guitar again
I sleep so well now although not alone
Oh, I've GOT to be on the road again!

No, actually Alice's maiden name was Gibson.

.....but you probably already knew that, right?

David Crowder Band

Are we left here on our own?
Can you feel when your last breath is gone?
Night is waiting heavy now
Be quiet and wait for a voice that will say

Come awake
From sleep, arise
You were dead
You’ve come alive
Wake up wake up
Open your eyes
Climb from your grave
Into the light
Bring us back to life

You are not the only one
Who feels like the only one
Night soon will be lifted friend
Just be quiet and wait for the voice that will say

Come awake
From sleep, arise
You were dead
You’ve come alive
Wake up wake up
Open your eyes
Climb from your grave
Into the light
Bring us back to life

Rise, rise, rise, rise, rise

Rise, rise, rise, rise….
Shine, shine, Oh shine
We will shine
We will rise
We will shine, shine, shine

Okay, as long as we're being silly here, here's my entry:

"We are the Apniacs" (We are the Champions)

I've worn my mask -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of masks on my face -
But I've come through

We are the Apniacs - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the Apniacs -
We are the Apniacs
No time for losers
'Cause we are the Apniacs - of the world -

Such creative folks! Ran into this thread so late I'll just add these itty bitty ones...

to the tune of Itsy Bitsy Spider...

The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the cpap hose
On came the air and blew it up her nose
Off came the mask and she blew the spider out
And the itsy bitsy spider was no longer in her snout

and to the tune of Mary Had A Little Lamb...

Mary had a little mask, little mask, little mask
Mary had a little mask it's leaks would nightly blow

Every time she went to sleep, went to sleep, went to sleep
Every time she went to sleep it caused her so much woe

She fell asleep in school one day, school one day, school one day
She fell asleep in school one day, she slept till time to go

Then she found cpap.com, cpap.com, cpap.com
Then she found cpap.com and ran right to the store

Grabbed some gel and moleskin, and moleskin, and moleskin
Grabbed some gel and moleskin and said "I'll leak no more"

Mary had a little mask, little mask, little mask
Mary had a little mask and an AHI of four
