Smartcard reader and Encore Pro software

Post by francois » Fri Oct 13, 2006 7:37 pm

I just received from cpap.com my card reader and the encore pro software ( By the way, great service !!!)

I had my report printed from october 2005 and found some parameters.

I have an average AHI of 2.3. What is an acceptable and normal value?

What are the normal values for the leaks?

If my AHI is low, could I drop my pressure from 10 to 9.5 or 9?

AHI of under 5 is considered normal, lower than 5 is the goal, 0.00 is thenumber to shoot for, but it's not realistic.

Normal for leaks depends on the mask you use, and your pressure, the higher your pressure the more (Vent) leak.

As you build your data base you can change pressures .5 to 1.0 Cm at a time, looking at that new data in 7 days at a time, and making no other changes. This way you can see if you have made progress with the changes.

Increasing snore rate sometimes means your pressure is too low.

Raising your pressure too much can cause central apneas, and raise your AHI (Bad) Make changes slowly to prevent false conclusions. Jim

You need to go into your profile at top of the page and fill out your equiptment, so we can have a better idea for suggestions.

Welcome to the forum! If you click on the light bulb at the top of the page you will find lots of info that you will need as a hosehead.
