HYBRID MASK WITH ULRA MIRAGE HEADGEAR

Post by rudyrx » Thu Oct 05, 2006 10:20 am

I DON'T KNOW IF THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN COVERED OR NOT, BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD PASS IT ON TO THOSE OF YOU USING THE HYBRID MASK. I AGREE WITH ALMOST EVERYONE THAT THE HEADGEAR OR STRAP THAT COMES WITH THE MASK IS "CRMMY' TO SAY THE LEAST.
MINE KEPT COMING LOOSE, SLIPPING ETC. I LOOKED AT MY ARRAY OF OLD MAKS AND TOOK THE HEADSTRAP FROM A ULTRA MIRAGEFULLFACE MASK AND TRIED IT.
WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I KNOW MANY PEOPLE FAILEDON THE HYBRID AND I AM NOW WONDERING IF SOME OF THOSE MAY HAVE DONE BETER WITH A GOOD HEADGEAR ON THEIR MASK
I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE IWTH INNOMED AND SUGGESTED THEY LOOK INTO THIS DESIGN FOR THEIR MASK.
I HAD CALLED THEM SINCE IT WS MY UNDERSTANDING THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT HEADGEAR FOR THE MASK, BUT WAS TOLD THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON A NEW ONE.
HOPE THIS HELPS SOME OF YOU WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD.

I went on cpap.com and looked at the ultra mirage full face head gear and there is no top strap adjustment. Does it work ok without that?
I'm getting desperate about the crummy hybrid headgear. I don't think I can wait until they make the new version available. Mine has completely stretched out and is uncomfortable. I had to cut part of the bottom strap off, etc. etc.
Just sure could use some different headgear for my hybrid which I otherwise love.

Maryb,

The headgear uses Velcro for adjustments.

I'm not a Hybrid user, but I happened to read this thread and thought I'd pass on the information.

I've also been thinking about how to adapt the UMFF headgear to the Respironics Comfortfull 2 mask as the one that comes with that mask is kind of flimsy, too

Best wishes,

Den

I was using the headgear from my Activa on the Hybrid, and it was much better that the stock one.

I use the headgear from my HC431. it works way better than the Hybrids headgear and only needed one alteration which was to cut off the quick release strap.

Here is a side by side comparison.

I use the Tiara "H" headgear with all of my Respironics masks.

I received an email from cpap.com last week that basically said not to look for the new Hybrid headgear anytime soon. They said that the new headgear would be released with the second generation of the mask.

I tried my headgear from the 431 last night. It really felt good. Very stable. Didn't put my pad a cheek covers on. Will try them tonight and expect that it could get even better. My numbers were pretty good.
