I am so amazed at how the subconscious works! First, you have to understand that one of the main 'symptoms' i had of the sleep apnea was horrible headaches each morning that lasted usually throughout the day, but getting duller as the day went on. During my sleep study, they found out that my O2 level dropped to a low of 68% which was apparently causing my headaches.
Ok, so last week, I had a dream one night: I dreamt that I was on a train with a horrible headache and no one would give me advil or motrin or anything although they had it. Then, still on the train, I decided that perhaps my headache was from low blood sugar as I had not eaten. Sooo, I went to the dining car, where there was a ton of food, yet they refused to serve me. I then woke up to realize that I had a splitting headache, no doubt b/c I had at some point removed my mask! A friend suggested that perhaps the pain relievers and food that was there, but not given to me, represented the cpap machine next to my bed which was there, but I wasn't taking advantage of! Wierd, huh?
Soo, I thought perhaps that dream was a fluke....but that was not to be. Alas, last night, I had a similar dream!
I dreamt I had been taken to the hospital and had a horrible headache. I begged them to give me my cpap machine, but they said they couldn't just then, but would get to it when they could. I remember my head hurt so bad, I was begging for the machine. I woke then to realize I had a bad headache b/c, once again, I had taken the mask off.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble, I just think it's so wierd/cool how the subconscious works. If I could just train myself to wake up as soon as I get the headache in my dream, I'd be all set!
I'm having tons and tons of dreams now with cpap therapy! Every night is like a new show! lol
I just wish I could find a way to NOT take the mask off in my sleep.
The subconscious is an interesting thing....

bella, put that wonderful, vivid subconscious of yours to work helping you! Try some visualization during the day and maybe a little verbal reminder every hour or so that "I will keep my mask on all night!" and see yourself keeping it on, remember how good you feel when there is no headache, etc. Positive daily reinforcement. I bet it won't be long before the mask just stays on all night and no more headache dreams........or headaches!
Good luck!

dreams
You must be dreaming of my dme.........no help, but maybe on the horizon...........good luck
Try wearing some cotton tube socks, mittens or something like that on your hands during the night. It might make it harder to unfasten your mask if there's something bulky on your hands.bellasmiles wrote:I just wish I could find a way to NOT take the mask off in my sleep.
