If given a choice between DME's, is Apria one to avoid?

Do a search on Apria. From what I've read here, Apria's not one of the best.

Good luck!

I use Apria and it is a nightmare. I have no choice, my insurance only deals with Apria. I can't imagine that other DMEs are quite as bad.

HAve you tried billmyinsurance.com? I would check them out and see if your insurance will cover them.

Piper_J: I don't have any experience with Apria, but I would imagine it's like some others - it depends on what state you live in, who owns the franchise, makes the decisions there, etc. It's hard to say how closely the 'main office' keeps an eye on their franchises, or makes dictates to them.
I would check out as many as I could before signing anything.

The DME that seemed 'better' to me here turned out to be only closer in distance, and they DO deliver. Other than that, the RT made me a nervous wreck! Getting answers to questions asked was a nightmare. He wanted 430+ for a new mask & headgear-regardless of make or model! I did an exodus.

I'm going with Bill My Insurance..again.

Good luck to you - it isn't easy.

Apria is the largest national DME provider -- the 600 pound gorilla in the room.

I know folks who have had nothing but good experiences with them and some who feel exactly the opposite. It may well depend on which office, and which person within that office, you happen to be dealing with at the time.

Like most all large national companies it really boils down to the individual locations and the individual customer.
There have been posts on here from some people saying they've had a great experience. There are also posts from others saying they have had a terrible experience.
There were even a couple where two different people dealt with the same branch and one said they were horrible awful people and the other person said they were great. Go figure!

Thanks for input! I talked to my insurance company and they reccomended that I use Apria. Actually went in this morning. They were not too bad to deal with although they didn't seem that knowledgable. I asked about the Hybrid mask and they had no idea what I was talking about. Perhaps they should read this forum

Hey people, when your DME doesn't know the mask, give them the website (not a seller site), but the manufacturer's website to see it. I did that with mine and she actually thanked me.

Most companies are as good, or as bad as we tolerate. Apria is great for me, but you have to find "the" person to work with. Whether a tech who comes out or a customer service person...SOMEONE at your Apria is both competent and caring. Find that person and half your battle is over.

The average assistance from Apria is poor. Good luck with finding the right person to deal with.
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.
