Aura Poll

Post by krousseau » Sun Sep 17, 2006 5:52 pm

There will be 4 concurrent polls on different pillow interfaces. This is an effort to see if the chances of choosing a successful pillow interface can be improved. Please add any comments you have about the use of this interface after voting.
We will continue this poll for as long as it takes to get 25 votes unless that takes an unreasonably long time.
WATCH TO MAKE SURE YOUR VOTE REALLY GOES THROUGH AFTER YOU HIT SUBMIT

As I've said about 100 times, I love my de-cap-itated Aura (used with two pantyhose straps). ...

It took me a long time, but I was finally able to tame this interface from leaking too much. Now that I have, I love it and interchange it with the Activa.

Linda, welcome back. I enjoy your posts and missed them for a while.

I don't get it. So far there are four posters stating they have a success with the Aura and yet only one vote for success and two for failure ... are y'all hitting the right button to vote?

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Maybe what happens to me with every poll I've voted in happens to some others (and I don't know why.)

The first time I pick an item and see the black dot appear in the circle I chose, and hit "Submit", it simply refreshes the poll page of choices. Doesn't record my vote, nor does it tell me it took my vote. The Submit button remains. I have to click "Submit" a second time before it actually "takes", tells me my vote has been submitted -- or whatever the message says when the vote successfully goes through -- and the Submit button disappears as it should.

That's happened on every poll I've voted in for the past several weeks. It always requires another click of submit before it works for me.

A person can vote without making any comments.

True. But 4 of us commented that we like the Aura, and only 1 vote showed up "for" it. Mine didn't take, which I didn't realize until RG explained that her's hadn't been and that she had to click it twice. Once again, a big thanks to RG for keeping me on the right track.

I voted the Aura a failure for me although if I had been brave enough to modify it according to Rested Gal's suggestion I think it might have worked since it is so similiar in design to the Breeze which is my all time favorite. If my drawer gets any fuller with failures I may still gather up the courage to start hacking away at it with really nothing to lose if I do goof up the alteration since I'm not using it anyway. As I remember the other negative thing was that the nosepiece on the Aura also tended to give me more of a problem with condensation, too. Image

Aura is my absolute favorite!!!!

Sans the panty hose. However, it would be priceless to see how our fellow cruise or resort patrons react to us wearing them connected to a hose to our face!!!!!!

Speaking of the Aura, I'm still looking to buy the Large nasal pillows and/or the whole Aura. So if anyone has one they can't use, please PM me.

Unfortunately, I have to use my next mask purchase (via insurance) to get a full face mask for when I get my one winter cold. Otherwise, I would get another Aura ( one can't have too many ). ....

I love my Aura too. It was the only interface that I tried at the DME that did not leak. I have been able to use it all night from the very first night on CPAP. I did have a problem with sore nares in the beginning, a littly Ayr gel took care of it. I do use the rubber band fix. Since it was my first (and only) mask that I use, I'm sure my nares just needed some toughening.

I have now purchased the Nybrid, I tried it one night and I found that I sweated too much with it on. To be fair, it was obviously summer when I tried it, and I had the HH on. Perhaps it will be more comfortable in the winter. I bought the hybrid for nights when I am overly congested, but have not had to use it for that reason yet.

An interesting side note, I foster dogs for a rescue organization. Aside from a little sniff when they first see me in it, none of the dogs (mine or my fosters) have bothered the mask.
