That is my favorite posting on mouth taping.

I started with the full-mouth 2" tape as rooster suggests. Then I had only 1" tape, and tried overlapping two piece for full mouth taping. This did not work, as the two pieces would come apart.

So I started to use the two overlapping pieces vertically. After some time, I saw someone suggest that one would do, and this worked until I developed some chest congestion. I apparently ripped off the tape to cough.

Since then, I have gone back to the two vertical pieces even with the congestion. I do manage to cough when conscious (usually only 1-2 times a night). It is, to quote Arte Johnson's "Laugh In" character: "VERRRRRRY Interrrresting!"

Try one piece of two inch Durapore, long enough to fully cover the mouth.
Durapore will pass air. Don't forget to use chap-stik on your lips to allow for
a less painful removal.
+ Aussie heated hose.
