Activa NOISE...

Post by JCraig » Thu Aug 31, 2006 1:20 pm

I just got my Activa in and tried it out and it is LOUD. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong? I can't feel any leaks anywhere, so it's got to be the mask's "normal" functioning... But wow is it LOUD.

The Activa can be loud, but I found that if I route the hose up over my head (attached to a hook on the wall with a hair scrunchy) it is much quieter.

Make sure that the mask is securely fitted into the frame. If there are any leaks between the frame and the mask, it will be very noisy. I find the Activa to be one of the quietest interfaces available.

Well my previous nasal mask was a HC405 which is SILENT, literally... I'll check that, though. I didn't assemble it, it came from CPAP.com this way.

Ditto for me. My wife and I are amazed at how quiet mine is.

Yeah. It was mis-assembled from the factory (or does cpap.com assemble them?)! One corner of the mask retaining clip was out of the groove. Bingo, tis silent now.

Thanks guys!

Umm, wow, I hate to support The Evil Ones(tm) but it seems this mask ACTUALLY PERFORMS AS ADVERTISED... Tonight will tell for sure!
