My AHI went from 1.1 to 4.8 after switching to the hybrid

Post by Ritap1965 » Thu Aug 03, 2006 1:30 am

I just received the new hybrid and started using it. My average AHI before the hybrid has been around 1.1, with 2-3 apneas and the rest of them hypopneas. After using the hybrid for 2 days, myencore reports
AHI 4.8 events/hr
Total obstructive apneas 6
Total hypopneas 42
Total time in apnea 78 seconds
OAI .68
HI 4.24.
Average pressure 13.6 cm/H2O
Those are the numbers for last night, and the previous one was pretty much the same.

Now if I look at the night before using my Comfort Curve it shows
AHI 1.1 events/hr
Total obstructive apneas 4
Total hypopneas 6
Total ime in apnea 42 seconds
OAI .43
HI .64
average pressure 12.6 cm/H2O

Also with my ComfortCurve I have water left in the humidifier in the morning. When using the hybrid all the water is gone.

Does anybody else see the same type of results with the hybrid?
Anybody want to speculate why my numbers are so much worse with the hybrid?

I just looked at a 2 month Encore Pro report. The month of June was with the ComfortLite 2 (nasal pillows), and July with the Hybrid. AHI and OSI are down a bit, and snore index and leak are up.

How do the leak rates compare?
