is it broken?

So, I have a remstar heated humidifier. When I push the button (to turn it on) the light goes on blah, then about 10-15 mon later, the light goes off. Is it broken? If I have to take it back to apria healthcare, should I take the whole thing in or JUST the humidifier? Ahhhhh! If it is screwed up, what are the chances my health insurance will cover it? Cause if it won't, I'm can't take it back cause I can't afford another one! Ack!

in the manual... it says something along the lines it will pre-heat for xx minutes and then shut off if the machine has not been turned On.

try turning on the machine
then turning on the humidifier where it should stay on.
