Provent patches? Your opinion

Post by snorenomore2016 » Thu Feb 23, 2017 1:12 pm

I was reading some older reviews about Provent. They were fairly negative. I've been a CPAP user for about 10 years. I asked the lady at the medical device company about them and she said tons of people buy Provent and love them. Was she fibbing to me? Are there people with positive experiences with Provent or is it still mostly negative?

They don't give a money back guarantee of free trial which is suspicious on a product like this. You'd think they'd love to get people 'hooked' if their product if it's so good.

Any new Provent opinions pro or con?

Thanks

How are you going to check it to see if it is even working?

FWIW...I did try them or at least attempted to. I never could get the damn things to stick properly on my nose comfortably so that I could even try sleeping with them.

the only possible way they could work is the placebo effect.

Good Question!!!!! I guess you would need a sleep study while wearing them.

Since cpap works for me, and I have no issue with taking it along with me,
I have no reason to try anything that has not been proven.
It appears that the company has less faith in the effectiveness of their device than in their marketing.

I tried them one night during a power outage in Hawaii. (Hurricane!)

I couldn't fall asleep with them, but later read the instructions that said you breathe through your mouth until you fall asleep. Then you switch to nose breathing, where they supposedly will lower apnea due to creating some back pressure. Studies I read suggested that they only reduced apneas by about 50%, which is far inferior to cpap, but better than nothing.

They are still in my cpap kit, for a future power outage, but I trust my cpap more.
