New RESMED AirSense 10

Post by TJGILE » Thu Feb 09, 2017 4:16 pm

I just purchased a new ResMed AirSense 10. My old machine had the pressure set at 11 and I was always having air leaks. The new machine you do feel you have it on. I didn't think I was getting enough pressure the first night I used it, but I have been able to sleep great. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Do you use the ramp feature? Ramp can "starve" you of air early on in the night, but it's supposed to upp the air pressure slowly as a comfort feature. A 11 on your old machine should equal a 11 on the new machine. Are you on CPAP mode or autoset mode?

Been awhile, but I think "out of the box" settings for my Airsense Autoset were 4-20. Have you input your settings?

The lower pressure setting of 4 is a little low and is too low for most folks. That's probably why you feel you aren't getting enough air. I would bump it to a 7 or 8. Do you have the clinical manual? You need that to adjust the settings. If you don't, then give me your email address via pm, and I'll email you the manual.

Hi Sheriff,
I'm also getting this machine in a couple of weeks, would you mind sending me the clinical manual too?
I was advised on the forum to get the 'for her' model as it has an additional algorithm for the same price.

I am done with my second night, well, half night. After setting the ramp pressure to 7 and changing the MIN pressure to 12. I slept great for the first 5 hours. I woke up at 1:30 - 2 and couldn't fall back to sleep. I will look at my data after the 2nd cup of coffee but I wanted to thank the Sherriff for having me change my MIN setting. I fell right to sleep with no jerking awake. Tonight will be great too I hope. Take control of your own health. Ask questions if you need to. There's allot of very knowledgeable and helpful people here. LOL
