Hello From Alaska
Noobie Here. On the Machine for a week. Having the same issues as every Noobie. Trying to find a Mask that will work. I will figure it out.
Took a home sleep study o2 down to 64% overnight and 17 incidents a hour. Doctor rated me a 8 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst. Funny thing though I rarely snore and many times my wife would read while i was sleeping and she said I never stopped breathing? Who figure??? Like many others on here I am annoyed with this process. And I have not had instant gratification as of yet. I will continue to persevere.
Hope everyone has a great night.
Chris

Welcome Chris,
I know at first that using cpap can seem like a necessary evil. But by learning how to use it you are keeping your oxygen up and avoiding all the damaging hormones that apnea causes. You will see improvements over time.
Do you have your Clinical manual? It has a lot more info than the users manual. You can get one here. just scroll down to the third section and follow the instructions for them to email you one. http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
Also there is free software that you use on you computer to monitor your data called SleepyHead. You can learn how to get it here. https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead

for me, it's a welcome 'evil'. it's made my life so much better. I even wag my spare to dialysis because that process makes me feel sleepy, and with my cpap, I'm free to nap!OkyDoky wrote:Welcome Chris,

Get OSCAR

Oh, after learning how to deal with all the issues that come with the new dx, it didn't take long before my machine was a best friend. It helps me deal with so many issues and now it's more an angel of mercy.palerider wrote:for me, it's a welcome 'evil'. it's made my life so much better. What kind of issues are you having with your mask? Are you troubled by leaks, or you just don't like the feel of it against your skin? I use the same mask and use mask liners I made from an old, well-used tee shirt. If you are interested in making your own mask liners, PM me and I will send you a copy of the pattern I use. I only use the liners in the summer when the mask makes my face sweat. This time of year, we keep the bedroom cool (55 - 60 degrees) so I don't need them right now.
