I picked up my Aircurve 10 ST on Thursday along with the Amara View mask. My AHI last night was only 1.48 which is the best it has been in a very very long time. Still trying to get used to the constant change from 20 to 10 with each breath but I'm getting there. I really like the ease of use with this machine. Pugsy, you should see the sleepyhead graph now compared to a few years ago. You wouldn't think they both belonged to me. lol
I'm still not sure about the Amara View FFM though. I am having a terrible time with leaks that keep waking me up or keeping me from going to sleep. I have the smallest one they make and could really use a size smaller. Besides the leaks the severe dry mouth wakes me up as well. I have the humidity set to max and have to refill the tank in the middle of the night. I also have humidity on my O2 machine, but it all does not seem to be enough. I keep a glass of water on the nightstand so I can moisten my mouth when I wake up. With all of this you would think my AHI would be worse than it is.
Anyways... That's it in a nutshell
Got my Aircurve 10 ST
Re: Got my Aircurve 10 ST
Hi Cr1kk1t:
Glad to hear that things are improving so much. It does take a while to get use to the switch from 10 to 20 cm H2O that can happen with this type of machine as well as with an ASV machine like I use. If you cannot find another solution to the dryness issue, then you may want to look into a supplemental external humidifier. There are a few of us that need much more humidity than any single machine can supply. I use a FP HC150 external humidifier daisy chained to my PR heated humidifier and some nights all the water in both chambers is gone by morning. I have my O2 concentrator running a bubbler for added humidity but, as you have noticed, it's not nearly enough.
If you decide to go the external humidifier route, let me know and I'll give you a parts list and pictures on how it all goes together.
