Video of hubby I took - definitely sleep apnea

Some of you may have seen my post a couple of days ago.
My husband says he is fine, even though I know he has untreated sleep apnea.
Well I got it on video this morning & will make him listen to it later.
First half of video is tougher to hear as the silly dog was laying next to him & kept trying to lick me. But then dog calms down & you can hear better in 2nd half.
This is actually good compared to some other nights actually.
Normally he stops breathing then gasps for air. It's really scary.

So hoping this helps him to see he is not fine. Ugh.

Sorry...I tried several different methods, but I cannot see your video.

Darn, probably nobody else either then. Is there any free sites that I can upload a video from my phone & get a URL to share it? Cannot figure how to get it from my phone onto here another way.

Said, "and what... I was just probably breathing quietly... and haven't died yet" He is stubborn as they come.

BUT.... he did make a call to my sleep dr & get an appt for next week. Thank heavens, as I worry about him every single night when I hear him breathing (or rather not breathing).

Vimeo is a good one, but it's a little involved... intended for more artsy kinds of productions. Anyway, we all know what apnea sounds like... it appears you do as well and you're probably right. One thing you might tell hubby is that guys in his situation don't realize how much their apnea affects their lives and health until they start treatment and actually get some good sleep for the first time in years. For me, it was literally the first day.

Okay, didn't really want to make it public. So didn't identify him. But hopefully this is it.

Can you borrow a recording pulse oximeter from your doctors office, or purchase an inexpensive one yourself to see how his SpO2 levels are doing during the night?

Hiya - the first link worked for me (on my iPad - I think because I have dropbox installed on my iPad).
Anyway - I listened and, if it were me, that would be more than enough of a wake-up call. It's exactly what my wife did for me one night a few weeks ago when I fell asleep without putting my scuba-diving gear on!!
Obviously I have no idea if it's sleep apnea or distorted breathing or whatever - but it'd be enough to make me want to get tested.
I think I remember your last post said he decided to go to the Drs though, yea?
Me, being a bloke, took a while in the denial stage too - 2- 3 years actually. I had to get myself into the right head-space to want to deal with it - CPAP was turning my stomach. After 6 weeks of it, I think I'm one of the biggest fans of CPAP in the world! I can totally understand all the aversions though - I have them too - but the pros by far outweigh the cons for me.
I guess what I am saying is it might just take a little bit of time. I'm sure from what you have said he knows there is an issue - and he must be feeling very average during the day. Just keep quietly chipping away - and videoing!!!
I really do wish you all the best - I understand how you must feel (we have two family friends in exactly the same position).
PS - how cute is your dog!!!

Yikes! No wonder you're concerned. Glad he's going to see his doctor. What was his sleep position in this recording? Until he gets tested (sooner rather than later I hope) do try to at least make him stay off his back. Let us know how this turns out.

Those are some long pauses between breaths. I'd certainly get a sleep study done. No excuse.
