ResMed Airsense 10 for her auto settings

Post by shaktima » Sat Dec 10, 2016 10:29 am

Hi everyone, This is my first post. Where can I find the settings for auto vs manual on/off of the machine, and also cpap vs auto vs auto for her choice of algorithm settings. I believe they are both in the clinical settings which I don't have access to, but I would like to experiment with both setting options. How can I access those clinical settings? Also, do you prefer auto or manual on/off and why? Thank you!

Welcome,
Here is a link to your Clinical Manual that will have answers for you. https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
I wouldn't change pressure settings without knowing if they are needed and you can do that by using software and asking here if you are having problems.
This link will help you with software. https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment
Please go to your user profile and fill in your equipment so it will show in each of your posts and members will know how to help you.
As far as using auto or manual off, I just push the button because it's no problem for me.

Press either the big dial or the home button to turn the screen on. Then hold both the big dial and the home button down at the same time for about 5 seconds. The clinical data screen should come on. PM me if you have any problems as I also have this unit.

Auto for Her works better for me. The difference isn't nearly as significant as between a Respironics model and the Resmed. The AHI is the same (near zero), but I think the steeper rise in pressure on the regular setting was waking me up. My suggestion is to try the For Her setting for a couple of weeks and then the regular apap setting for a couple of weeks and then decide which one you prefer. Interestingly, if you are affected by the fires in the West during the summer and Fall, the regular setting seems to be more effective. I don't know why that is. I have since switched back to the For Her setting though.

I totally LOVE Smartstart. I still have to manually shut off the machine (it automatically shuts off with some masks but not others). Take 2 or 3 breaths and it starts right up.
