Just found this from a doctor on how to make your own chin strap.

The similar chinstrap which has been on the market for a few years is better because it uses only short Velcro straps and the piece on your chin is silk smooth. The long Velcro strap that the Docter uses can rub on your pajama all night long.

Not a problem, you can use any width of Velcro cut to any length you choose - and in many colors, too. Thus, the one you make yourself is custom tailored just for you. In my experience, bespoke is always better.
