American home patient

Post by Withoutgoodsleep » Tue Nov 22, 2016 11:37 am

Got terrible service with Bennett Medical never fitted right had the same material supplies since March of 2015. It gets better. So I decided to jump ship and go to American Home Patient due to a referral from a relative. I thought I was getting bad service with Bennett. I had no idea ,American Home Patient was not just as bad it was worse. The worst medical experience and run around I have ever gone through. Six and a half hours of phone time and I was only able to talk to One manager who did nothing. I was lied to and sent on a goose chase across town behind the lies which took the total tally to about 8 hours I which I had no satisfaction and no supplies leaving me very frustrated. I don't know if it's just my bad luck but chances are after all the hours I've wasted dealing with this company I'm pretty sure it's not me. The company is simply terrible.

I've been using American Home Patient for over 5 years with no problems what so ever. I order my supplies over the phone at there 1-800-221-8763 number and about 5 days later I receive them in the mail. I'm sorry you're having a problem with them.

American Home Patient such a nice sounding name.
I switched from AHP to Verus and haven't had a problem since.
Give Verus a call...

Same here. As of July 1, the only medicare contracted DME in the San Francisco Bay Area will be . . . an oxygen company!!!
You might call VERUS Healthcare: 1 800 367-9320

If they accept Medicare, I would think they also serve the general public. Not certain though.

I have been using AHP for about 1/5 years. The local office in Columbus did a great job fitting my mask, training etc. America Home support via telephone has been great, too great, as they call me every couple of months to see if I need supplies etc.

I had Cornerstone before retirement and moving to Medicare. So I was sent to AHP. They have been hard to deal with from the very beginning. AHP was completely uncooperative about my problems with the fit of the mask. I had been using a CPAP for 10 years quite easily, but supplies from AHP never fit right and there was no help available.

So when AHP became Lincare, I decided to go back to Cornerstone which had been great for 10 years. They aren't so great anymore. They kept losing the information I sent them and after trying to change back to them for 2 months I was pretty discouraged. I finally got someone who took pity on me, did some research about my request and called back to tell me Medicare will not allow me to change companies.

So I am stuck with Lincare. I just got off the phone with them and it does not look good. I'll review them in a separate post.

Medicare does not care where you purchase your supplies as long as you go through an approved supplier. Someone is feeding you a line of BS. I have changed suppliers a couple times without any problems. You just need to have your doctor send them the information they need to process your orders.
