You might try sending a private message to forum member, jnk. I seem to remember that he lives in NYC.

I have moved upstate. But for unique provider reasons, I got my sleep testing done at a lab near Englewood NJ, even though I lived in Brooklyn at the time.

Oh ok. Is it accessable by train from Manhattan? Can you share the name of it? Also, if you know any reputable places in nyc area....,?

Have you checked with your insurance to see who is in network? Have you asked your doctor for a referral?

Personally I would be happy with any AASM-accredited center.

I don't remember the name, but it was associated with Englewood Medical Center at the time. And I drove.

LSAT highlights important questions. My primary chose the sleep doc I saw.

I would recommend getting a tour of the sleep rooms ahead of time. It will make you less nervous the day of. It is often easier to fall asleep in a room you've seen at least once before.

I'm very happy with the Montefiore Hospital Sleep Clinic at 3411 Wayne Avenue in the Bronx. They take most major insurances. Their policy is that every patient sees a sleep doctor, so you might need a referral depending on your insurance. This is the second oldest sleep lab in the U.S. (possibly the world); Stanford in CA is the oldest.

Their brochure says that they'll work with you to find the bast mask. I was good with the first one they tried, so I can't vouch for that.

Forum member sypark is a sleep doc on staff at Montefiore. As mentioned earlier, Montefiore occupies a unique place in sleep medicine as being one of the premier training grounds for the discipline. See: http://www.montefiore.org/sleep-wake-disorders for more information. For more about Dr. Park See: http://www.montefiore.org/body.cfm?id=1 ... l&ref=3946 and http://doctorstevenpark.com/ If you need a sleep doc in NYC he may offer a more friendly perspective to the situation.
