Sleepy Head Data Missing

Post by joelrk35 » Sat Oct 15, 2016 10:25 am

First let me say that I am not a "techie" . Today I tried to import my data from my ResMed AirSense 10 and only got partial data. The left side bar with data was there but the right side with all the graphs had only the Sleepyhead sheep picture. All data from the last time I imported from the SD card is still there. I tried several times to reinsert the SD card both to the cpap and the computer to no avail. The card was unlocked in the cpap and locked in the computer. I don't have an unused SD card on hand to try. Any thoughts or suggestions?

How many nights are missing the detailed data?
Is it possible that the SD card wasn't seated in the AirSense 10 machine completely?
If the card is not in the machine properly and completely then the data files needs for the detailed graphs can't be put on the SD card. No way to get that data back either.

If you know the card was in the machine all night like it is supposed to be then I would double check with ResScan just to make sure that the problem isn't SleepyHead.

About all you can do is make doubly sure the card is inserted in the machine and before tonight I would probably unplug the machine and plug it back in so that it has to reboot itself. Just in case there is a problem with the software in the machine that is supposed to write to the SD card.

If the data isn't in ResScan or the SD card wasn't inserted completely then that data is gone and there's no way to get it back. The machines doesn't store the detailed data files needed for the data other than summary data.
Sleepyhead needs those data files too to accurately calculate AHI and leaks...so if SH data is off from the LCD machine that is not unexpected.

If the problem continues...try a new SD card and if it continues after that then it wouldn't be impossible for the machine to be ailing and you need to contact whomever you got the machine from.

As was pointed out to me when I accidently put the locked SD Card back in the machine, the machine display will tell you if it is wrong - my error was in not paying attention when I put the card in. Accidental lessons are lessons nonetheless.

Thanks Pugsy. I am pretty sure the SD card was in correctly as I usually look for the message that is on the screen after you insert the card. There is about 9 days of data missing. Everything prior to that is still there. I will unplug the machine and power up again tonight and see if that helps. I will also order a new SD card. By the way what size card should I order and what type?

Any generic SD card will work.
1 or 2 GB will get the job done but those are getting really hard to find so most likely you will have to get larger capacity than you will ever need but it doesn't hurt to have a larger capacity.
I got a cheap Sandisk SD card from Walmart...8 GB was the smallest they had a little less than $10 from my local Walmart.

If you can confirm with ResScan that the data is gone that would be a plus. Sometimes SleepyHead acts up...it is Beta software and sometimes it just doesn't play nice.
That would be the first thing I would check if it were me. If you can't use Windows maybe you could upload a zipped copy of your SD card and I can run it through my ResScan just to make sure.

I don't have access to a windows computer. I will create a zip file and PM it to you. Thanks

https://www.dropbox.com/request/q10EWK54In55xorpkrJM

Zip the entire SD card and upload it to the above link and I will put them on a SD card and see if the data is missing in ResScan or not.

I got the file. Trying to figure out how to unzip it so that ResScan will know what to look for.
I am not familiar with the file structure of SD cards from the AirSense machines....I have a S9 and I think it's a little different.
Give me a bit of time to see if I can get it to work.

The Datalog folder is empty so I have no detailed data at all...in Sleepyhead or ResScan for any dates not just the recent 8 nights. I only have summary data for all the dates of usage in both software programs and the older dates should have the detailed data.

I think there was supposed to be some files in there but for some reason they didn't get copied/zipped.

Can you look into your SD card and find the Datalog folder and look in it to see if it has anything in it?

I am not familiar with the AirSense machines' SD card contents but I am pretty sure there is supposed to be something in that folder.

yes, there's LOTS in the Datalog folder.

the basic structure is the same, but the datalog is broken into subdirs.

Hmmm...my Datalog folder is packed full of files.
I don't think your Datalog folder is supposed to be empty.
Now why yours is empty....that's a big question.

Let's see what happens after tonight.

I know this shouldn't make any difference but check a setting in the clinical setup Options menu and make sure it says "Essentials... Plus" and not "Essentials.... On"

It shouldn't make any difference but make sure anyway.
