F&P Brevida versus Pilairo Q

Post by skram » Tue Oct 11, 2016 11:08 am

Anyone seen or tried the F&P Brevida mask? It looks a lot like the Pilairo Q, so wondering if it is a replacement/improvement on it, or if I'm not seeing something that makes it different.

Those are really close in looks. I have a Pilairo and I like it really well. I didn't care for that tiny single strap that it came out with at first but I like the head gear that is a little more secure. The headgear for the Brevida looks like the headgear for the P10 which is another favorite mask of mine. I hope they aren't going to replace the Pilairo. Maybe they just want to see which one sells the best.

I had to hunt around a bit to find an image of the new mask. Looks like it will be a little while before it is released here in the US.
Looks interesting. I might try it once it becomes available here in the US.

I doubt it is meant as a replacement to the Pilairo which is still fairly new in terms of age for a mask.
One of the much older F & P nasal pillow masks would be more likely to get the axe before the Pilairo I would suspect. You never know about these cpap mask manufacturers though.

I wasn't wildly crazy about the Pilairo for various personal reasons. I could have used it if I had to but it was down below several other nasal pillows masks in terms of my personal preference.

The cushion/pillow for the Brevida reminds me a little bit of the DreamWear cushion...only smaller version and fits more around the nostrils maybe. It was hard to tell for sure because I was only able to find one picture.
Once it becomes more available worldwide we will get a better look at it.
There was a video but I couldn't get it to load for me to be able to see it better. I might try it later on a different computer.

Edit...I found this that showed the mask in better detail. Especially the way the nasal pillow is constructed.

Headgear looks very similar to the P10 headgear but more adjustable. I guess they learned their lesson with the first Pilairo and the one size fits all headgear fiasco.
