Removing mask while asleep
Removing mask while asleep
I've been using a cpap for about 2 weeks now. I use the dreamwear mask and really like it overall. However, I've noticed the past few nights that I wake up and I've removed the mask (SH says usually between 30-60 mins). I have no recollection of removing it, but I wake up and realize it's off and put it back on. For various reasons, I want to keep this from happening. Any suggestions for keeping the mask on all night?
Re: Removing mask while asleep
I've never had this problem, but several forum members have posted the suggestion to tape the mask to your face. Not that the tape would prevent you from pulling the mask off, but the discomfort of the tape ripping away from your skin would awaken you so you could stop yourself. Good luck!

Re: Removing mask while asleep
I did this maybe 2-3 times when I started on CPAP and had no recollection of doing it. Hasn't happened in last 12-15 months. How long have you been on CPAP? If you are a newby I suspect you will outgrow this.
Cheers,
Cheers,

Re: Removing mask while asleep
You could try wearing a chinstrap over the mask...or...wear the mask for an hour before bed while watching TV to get your face accostome to the feeling.

Re: Removing mask while asleep
I did it with an Airfit F10 a couple of times while I was asleep. I believe in my case it had to do with room temperature. I started just putting a tab of medical tape where the loop hooks on. I don't try and make it hard to take off , it just reminds to leave it alone even when sleeping. It's work very well for me.Art10630 wrote:I've been using a cpap for about 2 weeks now.
